SGU Safe Sport Protection
At Shifting Gears United (SGU), the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all our participants is our highest priority. Whether on or off the field, sport should be a safe, supportive, and fun space for everyone. SGU is committed to fostering an environment free from abuse, bullying, harassment, and all forms of misconduct.
Our Safe Sport Protection Policy applies to all SGU staff, board members, volunteers, contractors, and participants at SGU-controlled activities and facilities. This policy is a key part of our overall mission to protect the integrity and safety of our programs, and to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.
Our Commitment
- Zero Tolerance: SGU does not tolerate any mistreatment, abuse, or misconduct of any kind.
- Education & Training: All staff, board, and volunteers are informed of Safe Sport practices and undergo background screening.
- Open Communication: We encourage anyone with a concern about misconduct to come forward. Every report is taken seriously and handled with care and confidentiality.
